Jim, according to the P&A '56 tach cable is the same length as '57. Never owned a '56, so can't say for sure. Corvette Central catalog lists 55-7 at 39 1/2" & Paragon at 38 1/2" long. Gary....

            Re: 1957 Tachometer cable

my 56 tach cable fell out when i was cleaning it

Q does one insert this cable from the tach end 1st
so the little washer holds the cable from slipping out
            at the generator end?

            thanks
            iowa

ps sorry i'm posting so many Q's of late
when i finish the engine bay restoration
            i will be more quiet!!

                  thanks
                  appreciate it mike!
sounds more logical to be inserting a greasy cable
                  from the engine side....
but i'll put it in right tomorrow
