OT...Biggest train set in the world

Sorry it's very OT but I wanted to share this....car guys typically like trains too....like me. This is very amazing. Maybe there's a Corvette in there somewhere.

    Enjoy,
    Rich

      Rich;

I guess I should be into trains too, specially real ones. I retired from EMD over 10 years ago where I wrote many operating, service and maintenance manuals for over 22 years. But unlike many rail fans that foam at the mouth over them, I'm satisfied to just hear a five chime train horn in the night now and then. My specialty was the 645/710 series two cycle engines, and later the new "H" series four cycle engines which I documented from a one cylinder test cell engine through the first production orders.

That's all I would say on the subject. My heart has always been first and formost with the Chevy small block.

      Thanks for posting.

Will we see you at the winter meet? Selling any cars or parts this year in the swap area?

p.s. a new friend/member from Norway will be there too, along with another Corvette friend of his(a '77 owner). They'll be in for a real treat!

          Rich,
Thank you. I had heard of this display in Germany, but had not "found" it.

The "Miniaturwunderland" is less than than half a mile away from my office here in Hamburg.
I've been there half a dozen times and can say, it's really awesome (although I'm far from a "train-guy"). The two gents who came up with this idea started it as an extension of their hobby, and after they got it financed, the ball picked up speed by itself.
The display is constantly growing and attracting a mass of people from all over the world - it really IS a sight so see.

Whenever one of you plans to come here, drop me a note and I'll try to help you in travel arrangements, sightsseing-tips or so...

I spotted a 56/57 Corvette near the fire department where all the fire engines were in the road with their lights on...

                  VERY cool!

                    Rich,
Thanks for posting that. I had an extensive Lionel O gauge collection when I was a kid. That was awesome. Talk about attention to detail.

Good catch! I knew there was one in there somewhere. It's at 1:28 into the clip. Yes, the red one. It's a '56. Click pause, put the hand cursor over the vette, right click the screen and left-click Zoom-in a few times. If you look really close you can see the adjustment knob on the rear view mirror.
Looks like the car in front of the '56 is a C2 coupe and in front of that a t-top GM musclecar(maybe Firebird)?

                        Hi
There is a C3 in one of the containers on the containership, on its way to Denmark I think
We have so many so why not
