Re: 63 4spd Front T/o Brg. Retainer
Ed,
I don't think it matters if Muncie or B/W T-10, all 63's used the 421 bellhousing with the small bearing retainer hole. The part you are looking for is 604932, it's a cast iron bearing retainer. Try one of the transmission rebuilders or keep looking on ebay, that's where I got mine.
The original 63 part was a aluminum retainer that was replaced by the cast iron part because of problems with the aluminum galling where the throw out bearing moves back and forth.- Top

Re: 63 4spd Front T/o Brg. Retainer
I had both the alum and iron 63 retainers (plus a 63 Muncie main case) for over 30yrs. I finally got sick and tired of keeping up with them and tossed all of them 3-4yrs ago (no one was interested in them).- Top

Ed;
You might also contact Eddie Wass out of Philly... I have talked with him but have never done business with him so you might check him out from other sources... When I was talking to him, he claimed to have a limited stash of '63 only T10 parts.. His number is 610-566-7107.
The other guy you might try is Bob Bartlett (fourgeartrans.com) out of Chicago area. Bob is a good honest guy with 40+ years tranny experience.. He has been a good source of parts.
Good luck,
Joel- Top
