Simple question for color of carpeting

I'm performing a complete restoration of a 61 and decided to replace the red capeting. My wife in need of a gift idea purchased mats as a surprise they are what is called Tuxedo color C-3. I called the supplier and was told that they were correct and they only carry the Tuxedo carpets and mats for the 61. In trying to do the research several friends thought the red carpet was the base carpet offered and the Tuxedo was an up-grade for the 61. I now defer to the experts red or Tuxedo?

Gordon, Tuxedo is correct. There were no "upgraded" carpets in '61. Tuxedo carpets came in each of the interior colors.

Thanks a lot. It goes to show the carpet had been replaced incorrectly in the past.
It has been a journey but progress is being made the engine & body goes back on the frame next week.
