1968 L71 Water Pump Belt or Pulley Problem???

I have a 1968 L71/L89 without power steering or A/C and my water pump belt is too big by just a fraction. I thought I had the wrong pump pulley so I changed the steel pulley (GM 3921923BM) with the cast iron pulley. They are the exact same size and I'm assuming the iron pulley is correct? The belt I got from Quanta is GM 3935420 300X3250. I have a 3 groove pulley on top for the alternator, water pump and smog. Thanks if you can steer me.

When I replaced my belts on my 68 and 69 with the ones from Quanta, I had to send them back two or three time before I actually got ones that fit. I don't think their quality control on length is very good.

I went through the same thing. It's not the QC, but the part number cross ref. Search the archives as this has been discusses many times. I actually discovered that the belt they were sending me was the wrong thickness. By going to the thicker belt it fit.
