    Hood release i.d.

Would anyone care to identifiy this hood release cable that I got when I bought as a package, a lot of C1 parts etc. I think it is early C1, like '53-? but have nothing to prove it. I will be selling it if anyone needs one. It works smoothly back and forth and is about 50 1/2" long tip to tip. It needs cleaning but otherwise seem useable. Thanks for your help!

don't believe it is a c-1 cable assembly, at least not based on the knob in the picture. mike

looks like an after market universal push pull cable, i used to make 58 to 62 heater/temp cables with them before you could buy a repo set, they cost about $8 from dorman, champ, auveco and similar companys

Could have been rigged up as a manual choke cable.

It sure looks like a JC Whitney universal choke cable. I think I have one in the pile that looks just like it.

OK then, off to the recycler!
Thanks everyone. I agree, looks like a K-Mart choke cable.

Don't throw it out yet - the knob and first few inches of the piano wire make a great little hook tool for headlight capsule springs, etc.
