    L-84 Exhaust manifold bolts

When I disassembled my engine I neglected to make a note about exhaust manifold to cylinder head bolt positions. None of my pre-disassembly photos show all 12 bolts. The bolt set for '64 and '65 FI engines includes 11 standard bolts of 2 lengths plus 1 bolt that has a threaded stud on the end. Can anyone tell me which position is correct for that bolt with stud and what its purpose is (what attaches to the stud)?

    Thanks and Happy New year.

Doug, the bolt with the stud goes in the drivers side manifold, center port. The rear center, closest to the firewall. The purpose is it holds the clean air tube that goes to the choke. -Dan-

Hi Doug, the 'stud' one goes on the center rear hole on the drivers side. It's for the clean air tube for the choke. See the AIM for good layout of parts in FI section.
