Correct front motor mount for 61

I have an early vin 61 vette with the base motor and it came with a copper radiator left over from the 1960 model run and I was wondering what is the correct motor mount and water pump for this motor? Should I have a solid mount or a notched mount? Also I wonder should I have the "609" water pump with the bypass plugged or the old style pump w/o the bypass? The car has many miles on it so I am sure the pump has been replaced several times and the front mount had also been replaced.
    Thanks Ron

    Ron,

My early "61 came with the notched engine cross mount and a plugged 609 water pump.

      Las,
What's the VIN on your car? We've been working to nail this down more concretely. (email me if you'd prefer)
      Thanks,
      Mike

        Mike,

My '61 was manufactured mid October 1960, s/n1305, and while I have not owned it since new, I'm basing information on it's condition at time of purchase. I bought the car in 1998 and trace it's history to the 2nd buyer where it sat in a back yard for approximately 15 years before it was offered for sale by the kawanis club up north. If some else is familiar with the car, I'd appreciate more information.

At time of purchase, the car showed as very original and this was confirmed as I started the dis assembly for restoration. This engine had never been taken apart. Item known to have been replaced are: starter, fuel pump and carb (all have been restored to original). The balance was old and needed help.

Send an email or call to discuss further. I'll be under the car for the rest of the day.

Las, I did a lot of research when I restored my early 61 Big Brake car, Vin. 1330. I determined that you should have the notched motor mount, the 609 pump with a plug in the top. The plug has a square end on it.

            Paul,

Thanks for the reply. I do have the square plug at the top of the 609 water pump and actually confirmed these items last January in Kissemmee. I'm not having the car judged, but did go correct except for battery, SST lines and radial tires.
