    missing glove box light

My quest to locate all missing items from my 69 has led me to the glove box light in the middle rear compartment.
Does anyone have a picture of a removed light assembly, I'd like to see what all I need to search for.
When I replaced the carpet I did find the wire connection for the light, just nothing connected to it.

Thanks in advance for the help,
    Steve

Thanks, that will be the light/switch assembly but is there a housing this fits into?

Steve, The light and switch assembly sets in the 3 door compartment cover/housing. You need to drill it in the event it has been replaced as it does not appear to be drilled by the supplier. There should be a "wider section" on the passenger side of the center compartment.
My 71 was missing the hole but the po left the light for me to figure it out.

          Pete,
you're correct my middle opening in the frame has a wide half round area.
I'd guess this is where the housing would be located. There are no holes in the cardboard liner. If there is supposed to a hole then I'd say it was replaced by a PO and the light assembly was discarded.
I've found the switch assembly on the web but no housing yet.
          I'll continue the search.
          Thanks,
          Steve

            Steve

The light switch and light assembly presses directly into the hole in the door frame. The card board liner does not have any holes in it for the light assembly. It fits in the U in the corner of the liner.

As Pete mentioned the reproduction frames don't have the hole molded/drilled into them and you'll have to do this yourself.

I've attached pictures of an original frame, light switch assembly, and liner.

              John,
              Thanks for the pictures.
The housing looks to be made into the cardboard liner.
My liner does not have this so now I know what I need to look for.

              Thanks again,
              Steve

The GM service replacement box did not have a cutout or cover for the light assembly. One had to cut and use the old cover or buy it separately. Reproductions that I have seen sell it all as one unit.

                  Reba,
                  Thanks for the info.
I'd like to find an original with the housing made into it.
If I'm unsucessful I'll then order a repro.

                  Best regards,
                  Steve
