1963 exhaust manifold info sought

I am a newbie and am trying to keep my 1963 SWC to NCRS specs. I need help understanding what to look for in a 1963 LH exhaust manifold, part #3797901. I have the original on the car but it is pretty degraded and am looking for a better one.

My understanding is date codes on the part was not introduced until 1964 year. How do I ensure getting the proper replacement.

Any input would be welcome.

If you have a copy of the '63-64 NCRS Technical Manual and judging guide, there is an excellent section on original exhaust manifolds showing the correct configuration of the casting including pictures of some of the easy to see unique features. Very worthwhile reading for shopping reference.

Suggest you look into ways of refurbishing your original manifold or find a good original replacement. If the studs are ok and the flange ears are as well, then it's worth keeping. Granted, the date code is not applicable. My manifolds are original and I would do what ever it takes to keep them that way and not go to something else for appearance sake.
