Went out this evening to start the car after sitting a month. Went to pump the gas pedal and it didnt move. I checked the linkage at the carb and it was smooth. I'm assuming something to do where the pedal attaches at the firewall. I looked at AIM. And will look tomorrow while light. Anything i should be looking for?

Re: Gas Pedal Stuck?
The accelerator spring has a habit of weakening over time.
Be sure no mats are trapping the accelerator.
Check the air cleaner assembly to be sure it is properly installed and that it clears the accelerator linkage.Terry- Top

Re: Gas Pedal Stuck?
Terry,
I checked the accel spring and nothing is binding by carb. I have the air cleaner assembly off, so not hitting that. I can move the carb by hand in engine bay. I disconnected the cable at the carb
It seems the pedal rod is stuck? Looking at the aim i see the rod assembly has a protrustion going into the support on firewall. Wondering if bind is in there between the support and plate assembly. Will look at tomrrow.- Top

Ken:
I would check 2 things. One, make sure something hasn't fallen behind the pedal such a even a bolt that is laying behind it.
Also, I recall a time I had a similar issue and found the metal piece the pedal lays against had caiught the lip of the rubber on the back of the pedal and would not let the metal piece slide down the rear of the pedal.
