62 soft top wire on welt binding

just curious, putting a soft top on my 62 and was wondering which way the wire on should be attached , fat part to the front or the rear, it really doesn't matter but i'm guessing fat to the front, the JG mentions there is one, but gives no detail

lay the welt on and nail it down such that you bend the flap that covers the nails towards the rear of the car. if you do it the opposite way, wind could blow the flap open.mike

Thanks Mike.

I tensioned my top material 1/4" beyond the front header. There are no wrinkles, but I believe the material is probably too tight for practical use, even after heating it.
