1960 powerglide jumps out of gear

My 1960 powerglide trans slips out of park into reverse when I
start it up. It also does this when its in nuetral. is this a linkage
problem or do they all do this?

Is there a guide plate that can be used to prevent this?

    any help is appreciated.

I am certainly no expert in powerglide transmissions but based on my experience with the installation on a 63 corvette I would say the linkage needs to be adjusted. I think the AIM has a precedure in it for adjusting the transmission linkage at least it does in 63.

agree with bob. its almost always a linkage mal-adjustment that allows the cast iron PG's to jump out of park.mike
