Am I missing these parts?

Browsing vendor mags I came across a couple parts I think I am missing but I want to be 100% sure they are correct and should be on my car before ordering:

Corvette Generator Heat Shield
Corvette Exhaust Manifold Lock Set

Should my car have these items being a very late 1956 build?

yes to both questions. . the french locks were originaly mild steel, not stainless as some repos are. judges catch the stainless critters. mike

Alex, according to the 56-57 judging guide, 56 and 57 heat shields are different. Make sure you order the correct one. They are readily available from most all supply houses. They are just a piece of sheet metal, so I wouldn't think they could screw them up too much. -Dan-

You wouldn't think but the first vendor I checked listed the same for both '56 and '57 so strike one lol.

Alexander,

You probably won't be able to find the 56 shield. It differs from the 57 by only utilizing one bolt of the generator brace attaching bolts. You can do like I did and order 57 shield and cut it off where it only attaches by the rear generator brace bolt

steve: you mean brace or bracket. brace goes from h20 pump to top of generator as best i can recall. regards,mike
