C1 windshield again
I'm getting ready to take the windshield off for the fourth time. I had the machine fix for the broken tabs and put it back together but the windshield keeps pulling out of the windshield weatherstrip at the bottom. Anybody else ever had this problem? Is there anything that can be done to tighten the "grip" that the U channel has on the glass? Thanks.

i've used a urethan sealer/adhesive on the last three c-1 windshields i've restored. god forbid i have to replace the weatherstrip as i'll have to cut them out. all three urethaned glasses refuse to pull away from the weatherstrip and prior to these 3 c-1's, when installing new convert top , and trying to get rid of wrinkles, i nearly always had the weather strip and upper frame assembly pull back off the glass when tightening the convert top latches. not a problem anymore with the urethane. it comes from 3-M in a caulk gun type tube.. good luck, mike -

urethane between w/s and glass and between w/s and posts/upper and lower frames. mikeComment
