    Gary,
The left and center photos came from me. They were sent as a general discussion we had some time ago. I think I bought the one on the left on Ebay as a research sample and discovered it was mis-represented in the auction. I'd suggest you delete that photo just as I did.

Bill -- If you look closer at that Weyerhauser tab, you can see a smeared "12" in that blob on the lower right. I could post an example with (9, 10, 11,12) in an arc; impossible to decipher individually, but can figure it out when seen as a group.

IMO, the reason that you don't see more months is that "12" is December, and next month's boxes would be large '69' with a clock going from 1 thru 12. ie. they dropped the month digits as the year progressed.

        Anyway, that's my story .

          Here's a '70:

Looks a lot more like the '65 than the '68. In my small collection the '68 is unique in its configuration. I don't see how there was a circle of months on the '68...the 12 is in the "wrong" spot. Dunno.

I've seen some AC plugs on eBay that were manufactured in England; boxes were different color (excuse me; colour=English spelling), and no green stripes.

Here's a pic of a set I've got that were manufactured at McKinnon Industries (subsidiary of General Motors) in St. Catherines Ontario. Made in Canada visible on base of plug. The blue of the large box and individuals is a slightly lighter shade than the-US made.

Re: AC Spark Plug Box Dates

Hopefully not adding more confusion to spark plug box dating, but:
Colorox plug boxes (53 - 55) and early buttressed (no green rings) plugs for 56 - 59 showed year dates only on individual plug boxes as well as the larger box from which they came. Starting with the arrival of the Fire Ring in 1960, the clock method was used as described by others showing month and year.
Here's the problem. Plug boxes can have one date, example: 8 of 63. The sleeve that contained the eight individual plugs might be dated 9 of 63. The case of 13 sets of eight (104 plugs) would have been dated for month, day and year. That might have been 11-13-63. So, now you've got three different dates, the most recent being the most significant and most accurate.
