    Factory alarm

Happy Holidays to all, I have a question on the alarm system for an 82 C.E. Im not sure wether my vehicle comes from the factory with it. If so, what does it effect, how to activate and deactivate the system?

    Re: Factory alarm

72-82 C3's had alarm systems that were factory installed and included in the base price. A owners manual would have the information you seek about activation and deactivation of your 82's alarm system. If you do not have an owners manual check out www.helminc.com to buy one for $20.00. Helm is were the original manuals came from. There is good information in owners manuals for the driving enjoyment of your 82. You can also purchase a service manual that published for the Chevrolet garages to help with the work on your car.

Jim is on target with his recommendation to acquire an owner's manual for operation of your 82's alarm system. An additional NCRS publication (1978-82 Corvette Operations Manual & Performance Verfication Test Guide) will assist with testing your alarm system and help with all other operations as well. I think you'll also find that the NCRS ops guide will offer additional technical information about Corvette operations than the owner's manual.
