Wiper door vacuum safety switch AC or repro?

How can I tell if a vacuum safety switch is an authentic AC part or a repro? Thanks.

Mike, Jerry is correct on the black top hat. take alittle black sharpe and color it black. or if you have some stove black that will work.

I bought this on ebay. It was supposed to come in the pictured AC box. It arrived without the box and has no manufacture's logo. On it. The top is actually a gray color.

Mike, I am not even sure that the factory switch had any markings, or part no.s

I think that when you buy things on ebay they trick you into thinking your buying a replacement part , they just send you one from a reproducer. and keep the box.

            Hi Mike,
I took a look at the original safety switch from my 71 in comparison to a reproduction switch.
The most obvious difference in configuration I can see is that the original switch has a perfectly round barrel that the nipples originate from. The reproduction switch's barrel has a distinct flare running along it's entire length.
Another slight difference is that the nipples on the original have moulded openings at their ends while the reproduction has a very sharp 'cut off' look the them.
I'll be interested in hearing what your part looks like.
            Regards,
            Alan

The original is the switch with the plunger cap broken off.
