Casting Date to Build Date Question

My 1967 was built on February 7, 1967 and I have a block that was cast on February 1, 1967.

Feb 1st was a Wednesday and February 7th was a Tuesday.

I need an opinion as to the viability of this block to my build date. It seems to work, but with the weekend in there, is it too close?

I think John has indicated in past posts that engines were shipped pretty much on a non stop basis. GM seemed to use a first in first out system sometimes on the parts. I'd say your dates are very close and may not be totally typical, but I'd say it could have happened.

I agree especially on the common horse power small block engines. They generally seem to be within a week of the car build date.
