    New Torque Converter Fililling

I am ready to install my turbo 400 tranny in my 71 BB car and can't seem to find any information on whether to put ATF in the torque converter before installing in car. It is a new rebuilt converter and there is some oil in it but wasn't sure whether to add to it. Any info appreciated.

For what its worth, I put about 2-3 quarts in following the advise of my tranny guy.

if you put a block under the leading edge of the tranny and have someone tilt it forward, you can put a full converter in without leaking badly - if it does spill it will be very minimal.

Did this several times on various cars and with good results.
