1971 LT-1 Choke Coil and Cover Thoughts

I have a '71 LT-1 and have wondered for a while if the choke coil and cover is typical factory configuration. I have seen replacements in a few catalogues that shows a different config. Please disregard the Teflon tape and the vent tubes. Both have been corrected.

Pictured is the one installed on my car, the link is another '71 LT-1 I found on the interweb with a different configuration that seems to be in line with what is found in aftermarket.

    Any comments?

    Robert

Your configuration is identical to my 71 LT-1 which I believe to be correct. Both pictures are missing the fuel line support supported off the right rear carb attachment bolt. It is made of stamped sheet metal and clamps to the fuel line. These supports are rarely retained during the service life of the car. Ed

Thanks Guys. Glad to know mine is correct. I have purchased an aftermarket fuel line support but haven't been successful in installing it. Either the bracket isn't bent at the correct angle, or the rear fuel line isn't.

        Thanks again

        Robert

Robert the few I see are the choke pull off pot should have a have a curved tube toward the carburetor and you chock rod I would expect to be toward the front of the cover opening as shown in Dave's photo. Just looked closer your choke is closed and Dave's is open that's the difference.

On another note, notice the routing of the small rubber vacuum line on the smog diverter valve and how it wraps under, then connects to the four way tee on my 72. Can't quite see it on Dave's picture, I'd like to compare?

            Regards,
