    70 Blower Motor Rebuild?

The blower motor works n all speeds but squeaks when it starts up and tends to squeak just a tad when running

    Non A/C car.

Can the blower motor be lubricated or rebuilt. I see in the archives where C2 motors can be rebuilt.

It has a correct date otherwise I would just replace it.

    Thanks, Bill

Bill, Try removing the blower cage and using some 3and1 oil on the front bearing first.if theres still a squeek ,You'll have to drill a small 1/16 hole in the other end of housing. and oil the other bearing.( put the small hole so it cannot be seen maybe toward the fender).

Bill I would juts remove the motor it very easy to do non A/C car. It just could be something is now rubbing against the squirrel cage fan that is causing the noise. Or the cage has moved slightly. You could then oil the bearings as Ed has suggested if this is not the case.

I had already pulled the motor and cleaned it all up and did use some 3 in 1 oil when I had it out.

Works pretty well when it is warm out. I was hoping for something a little more permanent. Hence a rebuild.

Looks like maybe this is not a serviceable unit like the C2s.

When my 70's original fan motor started making noises I replaced it with one from GM. This was about 22 years ago. Used the original fan motor a lot from 1970 having factory air conditioning until it was no longer a daily driver.
