    Joel,
I checked the C1 Registry and the vin was not registered.
From what I saw of the O'Quinn collection the car might have come from anywhere on the planet.

Current available information would indicate that it is too early to be Black.

The Team Leader would be a better source for black eligibility, but until late in the year the color was Charcoal.

            This might help-
"Part of the O’Quinn Collection since 2005, the 1958 Corvette offered here is a nice driver-quality example with a powerful fuel-injected 283 cubic inch V8 engine mated to a Powerglide two-speed automatic It is finished in black with silver coves, a black interior, stainless steel hubcaps and wide whitewall tires. Options include power window lifts. A recent inspection reveals a sound fiberglass body with good door fit, good paint without major flaws and blemishes and older but sound brightwork. The undercarriage and bay are in good condition, all indicative of an older restoration that can be driven and enjoyed. Just 1,511 Corvettes were equipped with the “fuelie” option for 1958. They are quite rare in today’s market and certainly worthy of close attention."

              Joel,
Since your car has the Powerglide transmission and 250 HP fuel injection it is one of 504 in that combination. About 5.5 % of total production.
              The car looks very nice.
I have the same powertrain in my 57 Corvette.

                Joel,
On April 5, 1958 a letter was released by GM offering black and silver.
Both Tim Mickey and I believe by the time the paint went to the production
line, we estimate it to be about serial #6000. It is possible that your car
could have been originallly black since it close to our estimate.
