Original Documentation ???

Anyone know what this is? It's one of the original documents that came with my 67. I don't know if it's a GM or dealer document.

Hi Ron !!

I'm sure somebody smarter than me will chime in on this, but I believe that is a key tag from the car that indicated which position on the rail car the car was placed during shipment. 5th car on center deck.

Tom is correct i used to work for Penn Central RR unloading GM cars in Framingham Mass. in the seventies. The key was attached to the tag with a thin piece of wire.

In this case the tag has CP, does that mean Central Pacific RR or Penn Central RR? Or?

I never noticed, maybe that is the company that made the tag.
