    Hey Dennis !

Here's one from my 63 coupe. I wouldn't call them padded, but they feel like vinyl over heavy cardboard stock. I believe mine are real ones as they are hard as a rock !

Maybe someone can chime in with what's actually inside. I have NO experience with reproductions but most of the catalogs from major suppliers claim to have exact reproductions.

The originals in my 63 convertible are as described by Tom from his coupe. Mine are very hard, but I'm not sure they were when new. Of course, with a convertible, you tend to aquire scratches on the back side from the top latches over the years. The only time I see them though is when I flip them down due to sun or when putting the top up. Some day I may try to repair them.

I bought a complete interior package from Al Knoch, the sunvisors and the drivers side heel pad are wrong. Anybody have any ideas as to who has the correct reprductions?

They are padded. Not knowing that much when I started restoring this car I Learned fast that its the little things that will get ya. I talked to Al Knock interiors this AM and they use 1/4" padding but could make me a set with 1/8" padding. Not sure that any padding would be correct. It was 6 points but I need to correct all I can for a regional meet. Any suggestions are welcome!
            Thanks!!!

                Phil,
thanks for the info. When I talked to Knock interiors yesterday I was thinking about buying just the the drivers side carpet, but they are afraid the dye lots wont match. They said I could buy just the heel pad and see if I could find someone to sew it in. I am not to sure about that idea but I will have to do some checking around to see what I find.

Not sure if this applies to all repro visors- but I compared a repro set to my original '63's and found the two metal clips on the top of the shade were visibily smaller than the original visor clips.

The repros were made about 20 years ago - so things may have improved since then.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this on the repro '63 visors?
