Re: 2 cars permissible?
I think the only caveat on this is you can not take a space from someone with one car. So if one of your classes (assUming the cars are in different classes) fills up and there is someone else who wants their car judged in that class you get to pick which car of yours you want judged.
I know that sounds confusing and maybe I didn't explain it as well as someone else could. I hope it makes sense.Terry- Top

Re: 2 cars permissible?
Terry is RIGHT as there was a policy change with the new release of the 8th Edition of the Judging Reference Manual. Before, the set aside was specific allowing up to two cars per owner for Flight Judging at a meet.
Now, the rule is one to a customer (and there's a clarification that husband and wife on a family membership count as a single 'customer') UNLESS there's space available on the judging field and no other members are denied a judging berth. The meet judging chairman is responsible for the 2nd car determination...- Top

There's also the expectation that the owner remain with the car during judging, and this for multiple good reasons.
If the two cars are side by side it might work, but cars on the opposite sides of the judging field would put stress on all concerned.- Top

That rule has been in effect for more than the 10 years that I was a judging chair. I know one member who used to have four memberships (himself, wife, and children) so they could bring multiple cars. That is why it was changed in the mid-1990s.
You will see multiple cars by one person listed in the judging results. But as Terry said, that means the classes were not full and he/she could be accommodated. I know we had a couple of people at the national this year who brought a second car on standby if someone didn't show in a class.- Top

Re: 2 cars permissible?
While owner presence at the car during judging is desirable, it's NOT mandatory. We often have cases where the owner is actively judging during a given meet. Since we prohibit owners from judging in the same division that their car is entered for judging, they automatically wind up being away from the vehicle.
In cases like this, the owner is required to inform the Team Leader of his 'conflict' and where he can be found when required to keep the judging process moving along without delay.- Top

Re: 2 cars permissible?
I had a similar situation at our last chapter meet, last month. One owner contacted me wanting to bring SEVEN cars for flight judging, all early C1's (53-57). Even more unusual was his claim that FIVE of his seven Corvettes were 53's!
I had to consult the new 8th edition of the JRM to see how to handle the situation which is why I'm up on the rule change(s). The answer was to allow him to fill out the paperwork for TWO of his cars for the meet and flag his preference (1st, 2nd).
One would be automatically accepted (1st choice) while the second car would wait until the meet's advertized registration cut-off date. Then, based on space available in that car's judging division, be accepted or denied...
In this case, there wasn't a problem. We didn't have more than five cars register for a given judging division. His second car (a '55) WAS accepted for Flight Judging in addition to his first car (a '57).- Top
