Several years ago I revoved this alternator form one of my corvettes and replaced it with a correct date coded unit. As we get old memories fade.........so my problem is what does it fit?

Any help is much appreciated. Grant

I think that came from a tractor.

Grant, the date code is October 24 1963, but the part number is not familiar. The alternator might be out of a passenger car.

The drive end case from your alternator GM #1100948 originally resided on a 1974 Buick and was manufactured on October 24, 1973. As such, the drive end case originally belonged to an SI-series (integral regulator) alternator.

If the alternator is currently configured as a DN-series (external regulator) alternator, that's because some commercial rebuilding outfit used an SI series drive end case half to build up a DN series rebuilt alternator. It can be done.
