    Rear End Grease

I have a 65 non-positrack rear end --what type of grease should I use in it? 90 weight gear lube or can I use positrack gear lube in it? If so, do I need to put an additive in it?

    Thanks, Bill

Any SAE 80W-90 GL-5. Brand is not important. Like engine oil, buy gear oil based on viscosity and API spec. GL-5 is the universally used API spec for hypoid gear sets.

An open differential does not need the Positration additive.

Many gear oil packages say the are "suitable for limited slip differentials", but that does not mean that they have the additive installed. In fact, most don't.
