    Bonding strip ID

I need help in identifying a bonding strip. I have had this bonding strip for many years and am cleaning out the garage. It has a piece of masking tape with the part # 3892657 written on it. I looked in my parts book ( '83 ed. ) and it isn't listed. It is gray in color so I believe it is for a C2. It is curved and might be for the d/s lower windshield area ?

Someone got the part number wrong. I can find no record of any part of GM #3892657 ever having been available in SERVICE.

      Joe's right......I bet it's a 3842057 lower left bonding strip. I just bought a new pair for a 66 and they are white.(from Sermersheims)

        Rich,
I think you are right. I took another look under a big magnifying glass. The writing is very faded but the number does look like 3842057. There is also written on the tape INV. 935644 FLT 11/8/65. Thanks to both of you for taking the time out to look that up.

          Joe,

          What's interesting is that my.....

          63 AIM states 3797455(L), ...456(R),

          67 AIM states 3846181(L), ...182(R).

          I don't have 64,65,66 AIMs.

The parts book I used for the photo is a 1953-1970 version, and I just went to that as a last resort when the other 2 numbers didn't clue me in.

Was the 3842057 a superseded service replacement of the one in the AIMs? The parts book doesn't say that.

          Rich
p.s. Eric, BTW the 1970 price is $4.65. I'll give you five bucks for it!
p.p.s In HERE is a diagram from the AIMs. These are the one I bought a few months ago.

GM #3797455 and 3797456 were discontinued and replaced by GM #3842057 and 3842058 in October, 1964. The latter SERVICED all 1963-67 Corvettes until they were discontinued without supercession.

I can't find that GM #3846181 and 3846182 were ever available in SERVICE.
