Re: firewall grommets
Not real sure on exactly which one you need, but Dr. Rebuild has a large selection of grommets. The catalog I have (August 2008) shows the wiper vac grommet (3 hole) for '69-'72 on page 20. Dr. Rebuild's part number is 2777120. Doesn't say what the diameter is.
If you call them and want to ask questions, use the "you pay the bill" phone number instead of the "800" number, or be prepared to get chewed out. Don't ask me how I know.
Hope this helps you...Don Lowe

Re: firewall grommets
Hi Rey,
As Don said, Dr. R. is a good source.
Be careful which 3 hole grommet # you order.
The one Don indicates is for the right side firewall at the wiper door safety valve.
The 3 hole grommet on the left side firewall for the vacuum lines is different in configuration. I don't see it in Dr. R's catalog (but he may have it), it's # M-3099 in the Zip Products catalog.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Re: firewall grommets
Rey, knowing that there are numerous houses and choices for good used Corvette parts, I want to recommend Gee's Auto in Middlebury PA. Gale Gee is always at Carlisle and that's where I found him.
He's an honest guy with a huge collection of used Corvette parts. If this sounds like an option for you, contact Gale at (570) 376-3421. Tell him I sent you to him.Don Lowe

Re: firewall grommets
Hi Rey,
Here's a picture of the 3 hole grommet for the small vacuum lines that's used on the left-side of the firewall a bit to the right of the steering column on my 71.
If this is what you're looking for you may have it!
I believe I have one of the smaller ones too that are used on the firewall near the right side hood latch.

Re: firewall grommets
I Alan -----------
Thanks for the info, we are talking about the same area of the firewall. could you send me some demensions primerily the size of the hole to which these two groments go into. There are several of different diameters on the firewall. The one I am after is 1 5/8 " dia. there are two of these holes next to each other in a "v" shaped depression a little right of center.- Top

Re: firewall grommets
Hi Rey,
I believe there are 3 large holes in that area. 2 'upper' and 1 'lower'.
The upper one nearest the steering column has the 3 hole grommet that my picture shows.
The other upper one has a 4 hole grommet. On my 71 it has the tach cable, oil pressure line, back-up lights wire, and one hole unused. The holes have a thin 'skin' in them that you pierce as you use the hole.
The third 'lower' hole, (below the 4 hole grommet), has the grommet for the speedometer cable. It's quite odd in that it has metal prongs to hold it in place.
I hope this helps you.
Regards,
Alan
First the 3 hole and then the 4 hole. I can't get a shot of the lower grommet.Attached Files71 Coupe, 350/270, 4 speed
