Did all 396 Corvette dipsticks had their lettering embossed?

Not only that, but the picture addresses a question I had about the flattened vs round handle. The eBay piece seemed to have the flattened handle, ane easy to see no-no.

Bill -- now here's a flattened tubing handle . Again, eBay, this time a more reasonable $37; part #3925520. My Jan'70 P&A30B says '65 thru '68 BB Corvette. Same A & B dimensions (skirt to full mark; skirt to add mark) as 3860316 and 3860318.

Then there's the issue of the "dimple" in the handle, just above the skirt. Luck for these sellers, the part # tag hides any detail.

The "embossed" must have changed at some point. The characters in my Nov 1965 build 66 are stamped with no visible characters showing on the reverse side. (same 3860316 part number as 65)

I noticed that the stamped "M" is different than the "M" seen on other sticks??? Mine looks more like a "W".

The GM #3925520 dipstick was discontinued in October, 1971 so the example in the eBay item can't be any newer than that.
