break lens replacement

I recently acquired a 58 corvette. I notice the brake light lens have what looks like a stress fracture. Is it more importantant to have the origininal (with crack) or a replacement?

That's your call. Almost every judging consideration consists of a 'teeter totter' tradeoff between originality and condition points. Sometimes you gain little/nothing by replacing a correct/original but worn/aged part with a nice shinny new reproduction. You have to look in the mirror and ask yourself how you want your restoration project to turn out...
