1968 Interior Door Hamdles

Question for 1968 interior experts:

What was the color of the interior door handle knobs on a tobacco interior? Mine are currently clear but I see a lot of re-pos that claim black is the correct color.

Is there one correct color? Or was the color of the knob dependant on the interior color itself? I'm not sure what is right.

68 knobs are to be the same color as the interior. In 69 the knobs changed to black or opaque regardless of interior color.
