I am rebuilding a few A/C compressors and am wondering what to type on the new foil sticker? I understand that you use a older typewriter. Is this a date code that is dated a few Mounths before delivery date?
Did any of you guys do this before?

First get a good reproduction foil label from someone like LICS or Paragon. You then need to fill in the date code field using an old IBM Selectric typewriter with the removeable type ball. I am not certain of the correct font from memory, but it is listed/discussed in the archives. Search under "Air Conditioning Compressor Label" or something similar. The date code format is given in the Judging Manuals, but I believe it is MMDDYShift, where M is month, D is day of the month, Y is year, and Shift is either first, second, or third shift.

My late March 1967 factory air car has an original compressor that is dated 012672.....which corresponds to January 26, 1967, second shift. The two month time lag between the air compressor build date and the car build date is typical, but it could possibly be shorter in duration for other cars.....like maybe 4 to 6 weeks time difference.
