I am looking for a "numbers matching" motor for a 1985 vette. Where can I find one? I don't know the hp of the one that's currently in the car.

There are two different vendors out in Wisconsin who will supply a block, put in broach marks and stamp it correctly. You will find them each month in Hemmings, look in the Corvette parts section where they usually list their inventory by part number and casting date.

One is Engines Limited; Randy Chapin

The other has a similar name which I do not recall.

Randy supplied a standard bore 870 block for my 1963 cast in January '63.. Both are good guys to deal with.

What is your definition of 'numbers matching'? Casting number and date only, or casting number, date and all three judged features of a stamp pad?
