66 Hood Latch Finish Question

I had the male pins and the female hood latches replated in cad for my 1966. The question I now have is should I have them polished or leave them as they are? The finish seems dull, almost like silver paint. When I took them off they were so corroded that I couldn't tell what the finish was really supposed to look like. Any help is appreciated. You're lucky they came out dull. If they had come out shiny (as they often do), it wouldn't be how they originally appeared. So, be thankful.
