Happy Birthday to my brother's Corvette! Today is it's 49th birthday, and I have been in the restoration process on it just over one year. I want to thank all of you that have helped me in this effort to restore this car as a tribute to my brother. I could never have gotten this far this quickly without all your kind efforts in assisting me. I really appreciate all of your help with it.
As of now, the engine is rebuilt and back in the frame and the transmission that Bob found me in Carlisle is also now in place. The body is being soda blasted to remove the paint and should be back and in the body shop by next week. My goal is to have it road worthy by a year from today for it's 50th birthday. With the continued help of the NCRS I can only hope that I reach that goal. Wish me luck!

Amen on the amount and quality of the help on this board!!! I've recently finished my '61 and absolutely could not have done it without you guys. I'm considering another long term project with a '61 Impala and have not yet found a good discussion board for it yet. Any suggestions?

David,

Congratulations on the birthday of your 62. I don't know the story behind your brother's car, but I can only think it can be nothing but special to you and your family. Once on the road, I hope you will have as much fun as I have had with my 62.



From one 62 owner to another, I understand the reasons why you feel the way you do about this car. Keep up the great work and one day, you will be driving it too. I wish you the very best of luck to you on your endeavors with this project.

Thanks Daniel for sharing your story of your '62. I love to read about cars that people have held onto despite the odds. I can only hope that my brother's car will look as nice as yours! What a beautiful car! I appreciate your encouragement also. Sometimes when I am doing the "two steps forward, one step back" dance, I wonder what I have gotten myself into with this project. But, usually by the end of the day I have to smile and see that I am indeed making some progress.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for your service to our country.
I would love to see more pictures of your car if you want to pm them to me. I need all the help I can get!
