What happened to the SSG/Delphi/Nexteer thread?

Any reason why the thread on the SSG/Delphi/Nexteer sale to the Chinese seems to be missing?

Any your individual posts too, if you chimed in ...maybe it was moved to another forum

I suspect Jim's asking a rhetorical question; He knows that "Friends don't let friends"...talk about politics or religion on a Corvette forum. This is all Dick Whittington's fault for bringing up another dastardly sale to China.

Corvette Forum makes "inappropriateness" clear...They lock the thread and it marches inexorably toward oblivion, or they leave a place marker with a link indicating the thread has been moved to the Hell Forum if you want to "follow it".

Transparency, especially among friends, is generally a good thing.

I don't note that either of the above happened to the SSG/Delphi/Nexteer thread. So I must conclude that some threads are just blown away without explanation.

It certainly wasn't a technical thread. But it concerned a large company that supplied a vast number of components for Corvettes through the years. And it affects a large number of engineers and hourly workers that designed and manufactured Corvette components through the years.

I guess that someone did not like my thread.

I suspect the thread got too political, and I am guilty of contributing to that. No apologies from me. I just sometimes go that way in spite of knowing it is wrong. It always helps to know where the boundaries are, and sometimes the only way to know is to cross them.

I wasn't talking about THIS Corvette forum: I capitalized the F to show I was describing that other Corvette Forum.

That's how THAT forum is administered. I was implying their "inappropriateness" method would be good communication tool to adopt here...it would soon train us exactly where the boundries are.

I was only ribbing you, Dickie...your thread was informational. I've posted nearly identical threads here without problem.

Some of us here have to start analyzing and trying to figure out why events happened that affect us, and drawing conclusions/opinions on why it happened in order to avoid it happening again. (Engineers are a natural for this activity since that's what they do in the apolitical world.) At least, that's what I tell my wife when she messes up; but...I doubt she believes me either.

Actually; things have been a little slow for several months, but I expect the northern weather will change that soon. More folks will be on the net talking about their projects rather than out with their Vettes trying to squeeze (is that word ok?) in one more ride before the snow falls. The point being, with less traffic on the forum, the monitors can spend more time evaluating the threads - me thinks.

It's not missing, at all, if we're both talking about the same thing. Dick's original thread "Another GM Division is Gone" is still on the thread list.

Funny, I easily found it on page #3 this morning. I could not find it yesterday when I scrolled through the list.

And, if you posted, those disapeared too, yesterday, now they're back!
