AZ vettes? Where are they?

Just got back from a week in Az, great time but I didn't see one C1-C3 on the road between Phx - Sedona- Grand Canyon? The weather was great so where were the vettes?
I did meet Ellie Haga, very nice woman, still driving a vette.

Well as of today, I sold my '72 LT-1 with A/C on *bay, and it will be on it's way to Arizona in about a week to a new owner. In fact, the NCRS Delivery Report stated that the original selling dealership was either in Prescott, AZ or Encino, CA (owner had both dealerships). So it's going back home.

About 3 yrs ago, I would see 1 to 3, C3 per wk running around town. This last summer, I may have seen 1 about every 2 or 3 wks.

For some reason there is a noticable drop off.

Perhaps it is just the weather. Last february I spent a week and a half in Phoenix (mostly down town area clearing out my departed brother's things), I didn't see any Vettes until we took a trip up near Scottsdale to the cemetary. On the way, I Saw a bunch in a road tour and recall wishing I could have joined them.

The other possibility is that they are hunkering down to avoid all the imigration turmoil.

well I certainly enjoyed the state, with or without corvettes. There were plenty of C5-C6's just no early cars. The weather was perfect as well.

We have a C-1 road tour sponsored by the Arizona SACC scheduled this Saturday from Mesa to Globe for lunch and back. Should have at least nine solid axle cars on the tour.

I drove mine to the casino south of Tucson today. This afternoon drove the 67 golfing at Canoa Ranch in Green Valley AZ. I raise my smile index every time i turn the key.

I guess I would assume that the # of C1-3 Corvettes used as daily commuters is no more limited than any other state. Please note John Randolph's note above that there is a cruise this weekend......just about the exact date that a number of C1-3s are entering their "hibernation" period.

By the way, this was the first day of Winter here in AZ - the date that you move the "Temp" control from cool to Hot because it's 45 degrees.

We have 10 C-1's that will be meeting at Baseline and Gilbert at 10:00 AM this morning and then proceeding eastbound on Highway 60 to Globe. Keep an eye out for us!
