Door Latch

Hello Everyone - new to the forum and glad I found ya.

My '64 convert's pass. door won't close tight, it catches on the first latch but won't close all the way tight to the body. This started without warning other than one time I was parked at an angle on an incline and it wouldn't close all the way, driver door did.

I've cleaned and lubed the parts and gave the "star" wheel a spin. Any thoughts or suggestions sure appreciated. BTW, I think my car has been hit in that door, the chrome is in better shape than the other side and the window needs an assist to roll it up. Thanks.

Michael,

The stricker plate on the door jam may need to be moved out some so the latch will engage completely. If you can push the door to flush with the body you should be able to adjust the assembly to get it to latch.
