Brake line clip on trailing arm

I'm rebuilding the trailing arms on a December 2nd built 1965 Coupe. The pictured clip is new to me. The car has 60K miles and the trailing arms appear to never have been off the car. Has anyone else seen trailing arms with the holes as in the picture? The AIM shows a 11/20/64 change in the part number for this line (Pipe Asm RR L&R). I'm wondering if it was determined this clip wasn't necessary.
Thanks for any thoughts on this strange clip.

Well well well --- I was wondering when this subject would surface. I also have the holes shown on the trailing arms of my '65 coupe; Nov 6th S-body VIN # 14xx. Talked to Yogi (?) Bair at Carlisle a decade or so ago, and he said he has seen these as well.

You're probably right in assuming it was part of the design changeover for the brake pipe alignment for the new disc brakes, and looks like your clip is similar to those used on the top frame rail.

My 1965 (early Dec 1964) car had the same clip on one side. The other trailing arm had been replaced. So that side was gone. The one that was left is pretty mangled up but they did go into the hole in the trailing arms

For information, my May 65 Coupe does not have these clips or holes in the arms.

My Feb. built coupe has the holes and clips; None other like them on the remainder of the chassis; 70k miles

Guys, if you have an early 65 Corvette WITHOUT the holes and clips you will get dinged when your car is judged.

ALL early 65 Corvettes HAD the holes and clips. Thought everybody knew that!

The judges do! At least I hope they do! They do now anyway!

Charles and others. Wow; the holes in my Feb. 5 built car are further toward the front of the arm about 1-7/8" from where yours are, and center of the arm left to right. They are drilled in line with the center of the first weld from the e-brake spring clip weld (same weld you have). I had to bend my new lines to fit and look like the old ones. My line would pass over where your holes are drilled and then bend back out to go around the flat metal rebound pad. Mine did not have armor. Don't loose those clips!; I could not find them anywhere and they are not used anywhere else on the car that I know of.

My 65 #6362 had the holes as well. Yogi had the same comment when I had mine rebuilt. He said it was a sure way to detect an original early '65 trailing arm!

Whats the cutoff VIN/month for early?
                    Thanks,

I'm doing a set off a 67 that has the holes in them. The owner has had the car since 1970 and never had the arms off until now.
