You'd never know there was a recession with the price of those cars.

a few years ago a SS 454 chevelle with a racing history sold at auction for $2+ million and 2 years latter it sold for $200K. it will be interesting to see what happens down the road with these cars.

I think with just two Corvettes in this auction that Corvette buyers may not have shown up. The prices at McDormans auction last week were in my opinion strong considering the condition those cars were in.
I agree with those observations, but we tend to forget that Corvette's are are a small grain of sand on the beach of collectible cars. There is so much noise made about the high Vette prices, when they are, for the most part, cheap compared to other muscle cars.

Dick, you have a point there. In my opinion a RAIV motor is nowhere near as exciting as a solid lifter BB chevy especially L88s/ZL1s but they command a higher price than most of those ie 400k for a ZL1 camaro but 680k for a judge I have friends who are into other makes and they tease me about how vette guys are cheapskates. Those are the guys that pay 2K for an air filter. There were some deals though, the 62 lightweight 409 impala for 130 and the 62 superduty catalina for 155k were steals.

ZOWIEEE!!! So I guess the recession is over for classic cars? I sure wanted that '57 DeSoto Adventurer convertible, but it probably sold for $1 million.

Right, especially if you have enough money and toys

Help me understand your remarks. Milton received no financial gain from our visit, He is just a car guy that happened to do very well in Life!

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply he required payment from NCRS to visit, of course he wouldn't. I was just reacting to your comment about good things happening to good people. I just think having lots of money and toys tends to "help" good things to happen.

Ye know not of Pontiacs. 3 years ago he wanted 5 MIL for this rare trio. Top offer was 3MIL! So today they might bring 1 MIL. I'd call that bad timing. A ram air goat is a rare goat & this trio are works of art, i.e., way over the top paint jobs.

All his paint was way over the top. I saw the airbox car in FL, probably 15 years ago, and it was so nice it hurt your eyes. The way Chevrolet should have built the car, not the way they did though
