    Konners and Luby Chevrolet Shirts

Ralph Spears sent me these shots of original dealership employee shirts and was hoping the membership could help determine their time of use.

    Thanks!

Re: Konners and Luby Chevrolet Shirts

    mark,

I'm assuming these shirts came from the NY metro area:

Luby Chevrolet was on Queens Blvd in Forest Hills, NY. It's now known as H.B Chevrolet in the same location. I believe it changed hands in the 80's.

The Konners shirt could be Malcolm Konner Chev in Paramus,NJ, now Paramus Chev or his nephews dealer Konner Chev in West Caldwell, NJ...

I can get more info on the timeframe they used those types of uniforms on monday. Techs generally wear the Goodwrench type now....

      John,

It is my understanding both these stores were/are in the Boston area. Maybe Ralph will chime in. Any time used info would be great.

      Thanks,

      Mark

Luby Chevrolet was in Boston. I believe in the area of Fenway Park. Their advertising slogan was "I love Luby".

I remember the Luby style shirt from late 60s and going all the way until Mr Goodwrench style black/grey shirts started.

The Konner Chevy emblem looks to be earlier than the Chevrolet Super Service style but a lot of that depended on the uniform company who contracted with the dealer.

Both those dealers were in the Boston area in the 50's 60's and at least 70's.
Before I decide on the year I'd like to get a better look at them so maybe Ralph could send them to Kentucky and you could "model" them both to give us a better look at them. Ralph tells me that they are size "L" so that should be just right.

I don't know, Dave...I might need an XL. I wouldn't want the buttons to pop off and go through a window...or wall.

There was a Luby Chevrolet here in Baltimore, it's closed now. My father bought his 1962 Impala from them..

Both shirts came from Boston Dealers, I worked at Luby in Boston from 1967-1972 I have good memories of blasting around the local streets in all the new cars.

I guess nobody knows when the shirt emblem changed to the round style
