Mine is mounted on a clipthat is mounted behind the lower dash next to the adjustable ball vent at about 7 o'clock. There should be a hole there to accept the screw. Even the repro lower dash I have had it. Good luck!!

Actually, I believe the RH courtesy lamp is mounted directly to the fiberglass HVAC distributor housing or box. See your AIM UPC C60. For 70, it's Sheet E3, View A; hopefully it's the same for 72.

I agree with the other replies based upon my 74' with AC. To provide a few more details the bulb plastic base is part of a wiring harness that runs across the passenger side behind the dash panel. The plastic bulb base snaps into a round hole in a formed sheet metal bracket that has a single hole mounting tab. The tab is attached to the HVAC fiberglass housing that holds the heater core. As I recall from servicing the heater core a few years ago, the courtesy light bracket mounting tab is attached using a small wellnut and screw.

thanks guys. I just realized i was missing page E2/E3 in my AIM. But got copy of the pages from a local tonight. I never had reason to look at those pages til last night when my light fell out of dash. Didnt see a screw on floorboard, so must of been wedged in there somehow. Will take apart soon to reattach.
