I aquired a very low mile (36,000) '57 FI a few years ago and am at the point on making a decision on what course I should follow for "Restoration and Flight Judging or Bow Tie classification". Maybe some members out there have faced the same decision and can give some advice.
Here are a few facts about the car that might help the process.
The positives:
Real FI car,Original owner still in my town as is the salesman who sold it new. Very nice to excellent original interior, perfect dash, beautiful chrome, no body damage ever. Nice factory wiring, no "spray bomb" issues, Frame is mint. Black/Silver, Red inside. 4;11's still in the car. All the glass is factory as is the hardtop, that has it's original paint.
I have real "EL" block and correct FI. The car was in heated storage from '72 to '05.
The negatives:
Original engine and trans long gone, Painted original color once in 1965, it's still very nice.Missing jack, wrench, proper bolts here and there etc.
Any suggestions are certantly appreciated.
Thanks,
Wayne
