National Corvette Museum - Membership questions?

I was considering joining the NCM as an Emember.
Wanted to buy a few items and the members discount was reasonably attractive.

    My question...
Since I will likely not visit the museum this year, what are the advantages to becoming a regular member?

Is the Annual subscription to America's Sports Car worth the extra $25?
I have never seen the Magazine - so I am unsure.
    Thanks, Jeff

The biggest advantage is helping the Corvette museum. I am a founding member. Just got my 20 year pin this year.

It is support for an organization dedicated to preserving the history of our favorite car. The perks come when you visit or purchase from the store !!

Not a lifetime member, but a founder and corporate member with the dealership.

I agree about joining. We try to get there at least once a year. I think all the benifits put together make it worth while.

I am also a founding member. I have only been to the museum once but I still support a good cause. Sometimes getting your money's worth is not in what you get but what you gave for the betterment of the cause. I have bought two bricks there. One for my wife that died a year ago last March & one for a good friend that also died. They both liked Corvettes & is a lasting memorial. I hope you join because a lot of people have put a lot of work to make the museum happen when most thought it would never fly.

Re: National Corvette Museum - Membership questions?

By all means join. I joined before there were application blanks. Maybe the 3rd?? (#603) paying member and have never regretted it. I had my 20th year last year?

The museum is the repository for all things significant in the Corvette hobby. Once the NCRS and Archives is fully cataloged and stored, I think that you will be amazed at what is there.

For the collectors out there, have you thought about donating your literature, memorbilia, even cars to the museum? There are tax credits available to those that do. (Just a little plug to help things along)

I would agree with Kenneth's comment. In this case it is more about giving than receiving. I purchased a brick when they did the new addition. I have been there three times and was happy to pay the price of admission. On my last visit I happened to be wearing an NCRS shirt and I felt that they treated me as a special guest.

I echo the responses of the previous posters.

By all means join the museum. It is a great place, a worthy cause for us Corvette enthusiasts, and is becomming the custodian of a lot of significant Corvette research material.

I also have a brick on the walkway, and I was also one of the many people that contributed to the stone bench outside the museum honoring Petty Officer Michael Monsoor of Seal Team 3, a Corvette enthusiast and postumous recipient of the Medal of Honor.

Visiting there is sort of like going home.
