    D28 = November 28, 1966 build date
    467 = Convertible
    S2661 = St Louis body sequence #2661
    983 = Goodwood Green

        Re: Can you guys decode my trim tag?

        BTW, I'd be very interested in any additional data related to this car if you don't mind sharing, i.e. VIN, drivetrain, stamp dates, casting dates, pics, etc. I'm asking because this car is very close to mine, which is also a St. Louis convertible but with a build date of Dec 8, 1966 and S3192 body sequence. Feel free to add to the C2 registry at www.c2registry.org too.

          Hi Jack,

          The car is a 67 427/390 4 speed. The VIN is 194677S104802. Up until now I thought the build date was November 29, 1966. I don't have casting numbers with me but the car just went through a Regional judging and got a Top Flight with all dates being within range. If you would like any other info let me know and I'll get it for you .
          Thanks again

          Peter

            You may be right. I should have clarified, the D28 build date is actually the body build date as I understand it. With several members (including me) recently getting their Delivery Data from NCRS, there was a quick poll amongst members regarding the official GM production date (pay date) vs trim tag date. My production date was the same as the trim tag date (12/8/1966 and E08 for VIN 5642), but many others' production date was the next day or so. Here is the link to that thread: https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...81601&uid=5966 including an explanation regarding date difference by John Hinckley in post #10.

                Thanks Phil. Someone else mentioned that. Can you tell me what on the trim tag tells you this?

                Thanks again

                  The BP next to trim code is the ECL for option code C07. Auxiliary hardtop.

                  The BP should also mean the car cannot have A31, A82, A85, or M35.

                  Power windows, A31
                  Headrests, A82
                  Shoulder belts, A85
                  Powerglide automatic, M35.

                  ECL's are Exception Control Letters that indicate certain options that can and cannot be included on a unit. It will NOT give ALL options included or not included on a unit.
