    Polishng

I have a 65 coupe and the front and back windshield trim
has minor scratches and some polshing marks also.
Has anyone had any luck polishing them? I tried some Simichrome
it helped but I didn't want to over do it and cause another
    problem.
    Thanks,
    Karl

    Karl,

Your trim is polished stainless with a thin layer of chrome plating. If you try and buff the scratches out you will buff through the chrome. Over time, the unprotected stainless will oxidized and take on yellowish tint that will be detectable.

Unless you are ready to remove the trim from the car for a complete strip, buff, rechrome restoration of the pieces, I would leave it alone. You are likely the only one who will notice. Others will only see the car as a whole...after all it is a Corvette.
