    72 LT1 registry

    Who is the keeper of the 72 LT1 registry?
    Is a summary of the vehicle vin nos and reported options on each available to NCRS members?
    Thanks,
    John P.

    Re: 72 LT1 registry

    Scott Lindee keeps the LT1 registry. I think you can contact him through the "members list" button above.

    A list of the VINs in the registry was published in The Corvette Restorer, but I can't remember when -- NCRS disease. That would make them available to ALL NCRS members.

    You are not clear about the reason for your interest, but you should know that the registry contains data reported by individuals and no effort is made to verify the accuracy of that data.

        Re: 72 LT1 registry

        Terry,
        Thank you for asking and qualifying my interest in 72 LT1 data.

        I am interested in learning how most LT1 vehicles were equipped as originally shipped.

        Black Book data summarizing the total number of vehicles shipped with 945, 417, LT1, C60, A31, etc., doesn't reveal the uniqueness of specific combinations of color, trim, and options. A registry should capture that level of detail, recognizing the data must be taken with a grain of salt.

        Will the NCRS LT1 registry provide that level of detail? Or, is there another document available to NCRS members that provides on a per vehicle basis; ext color, int. trim and options?

        Thank you for your help and guidance.

        John P.

          Re: 72 LT1 registry

          I think one would need a lot more cars on the survey than we have to draw the kind of conclusions you are looking for. One can not rule out the possibility that LT1s were ordered with more or less of a certain option than the entire production run that model year.

          1972 has a better list of options (broken down by coupe or convertible) than any prior years. I don't know how much of that Chevrolet supplied list appears in The Corvette Black Book, but all of it is in The NCRS Spec Guide.

            Hello John,
            Your paint and trim color combination:
            945 = Bryar Blue paint
            417 = Saddle vinyl trim
            The only recommend trim color is black for Bryar Blue paint
            Option code: ZP2 is color and trim over ride.
            490 = coupes
            164 = convertibles
            What is the VIN to your 1972 LT-1 with C-60?
            Regards,

                    Drew,

                    I'm a little confused. Is your registry an LT1 registry or a 1972 LT1 registry?

                    Thanks,
