Re: Various Vacumm Tube
I've found that a little patience, a liberal spritz with WD-40, and gentle wipe with a clean shop towel gets the aged original vac hoses looking A-OK, without the need to 'shot gun' replace them with reproduction hoses that have a visually different set of stripe patterns...
While you're at it, take a looksee visual inspection of the ends of each hose. Often, they're 'spread' from being in-place over a connecting nipple for eons AND you can find cases where the rubber is splitting in either a radial or transverse manner.
Solve that by 'snipping' a bit of material off to get a 'fresh' portion of the rubber and you're probably good to go for years to come!- Top
